Woohoo, we’ve made it to another Friday! I don’t know about you, but they just seem to come quicker and quicker each week. The fall has always been a busy time of year for us, but now with two kids added to the mix, it’s just gotten even busier.
Ok, let’s get to it. I’m linking up again this week for Five on Friday and Friday Favorites.
Target – oh how I love you! I really think they created Target for moms. Totally not the first to figure this out, but how amazing that I can get grapes, a cute new pillow, and wrapping paper all at the same time. As the kids and I were making our weekly, or maybe 4 or 5 times a week, stroll, I came across this amazing display. Hello Adam Lippes, whoever you are! I’m not one to keep up with the latest clothing trends, ask my friends, they’re sometimes embarrassed of me, so Mr. Lippes could be some famous fashion designer, I’ve just never heard of him. Ok, back to the amazing display, unless you’re a first time reader, you know I’m all about the buffalo check right now. The cutest pillows, serving platters, and even a backpack – everything from housewares to shoes, ahhhh-mazing. Apparently I’m not the only one in love with buffalo check this season.
Just a little PSA from one bow mom to the next. I don’t know how many times I’ve gone into our local children’s boutique to purchase headbands for AB. They get so dirty and we loose them on a weekly basis. I think they know me by name, and I’m sure they are always disappointed that I’m only stopping in to buy a $5 headband. However, $5 for one tiny headband that only lasts less than a month at our house? I ran into Hobby Lobby the other day and saw the exact headband stretchy stuff on a roll for $3…. 3 bucks! Of course I wanted to buy every color they had, but I refrained not knowing how I was going to turn the roll into actual headbands. I came home, took apart one of our ratty looking ones and went to town. All I needed was a pair of scissors and a glue gun, and I was able to turn that roll of 4 yards of spandex into 10 headbands (only 9 in the picture because she was already wearing one). Hopefully that will last us until she actually has hair, and we don’t need them anymore! Over the years, I’ve given up the DIY gene. I just don’t have time, and it just looks better when someone else makes it, but I wasn’t a bit afraid of pulling out the glue gun to stock pile a few headbands. I still haven’t found the best place to buy actual bows, so send me some suggestions if you have any!
Yesterday was October 1st so we we broke out the pumpkin apparel. Remember me telling you about the adorable pumpkin bubble I ordered AB from Cecil & Lou? Well, since my only form of shopping these days is online and through Instagram – hallelujah!! whoever thought of this first – I picked up this cute shirt for PB a while back from a shop on IG. She makes cute bows, monogrammed shirts, and has great baby gifts! We hit up Trader Joe’s for some pumpkins and I snapped a few pics in their mini pumpkin patch, and then, we of course, hit up Target! You might be seeing these outfits many times during the month of October, I’m kind of in love.
A major NOT so favorite of the week has been a sick little girl. AB was fussy over the weekend and really congested. I finally took her in on Tuesday morning to find out she has a double ear infection. Even though I hate to see her sick, she has been sleeping like a champ – can we take antibiotics every night? #kidding On Thursday, we needed a little fresh air, and since it was so nice outside, we ate lunch on the front porch. (don’t mind the soaker hose or the shirtless little boy)
Last but not least, Happy Birthday to this guy – My favorite youngest brother is 30 today! Hope you and Tay Tay have a wonderful weekend away!
Here’s to everyone having a great weekend. Again, super busy for us, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
