Hello, weekend, I’m so glad to see you. I had this conversation with my friends the other day, but when you work from home, the weekend really doesn’t mean much. The only thing that makes it the weekend for us is that MDub is home with us.
This quote seems to be popping up a lot lately. Maybe because our days are LOOOONG, and on a daily basis, we are just trying to stay alive. Whether I’m at the grocery store, picking up from school, or out to eat, someone always stops and asks how far apart the kids are. I know I don’t have twins, and I can’t even image, but less than two years apart is no walk in the park. When I tell strangers the kids are 16 months apart, I get two responses. Either, oh wow, you do have your hands full, or I occasionally run into someone that had the same situation, and they all reaffirm to me that it does get better. Either way, they all say the same thing – it just goes by way too fast. So no matter how crazy our crazy is, I just need to say this quote over and over to myself!
Speaking of crazy – two year olds are C-R-A-Z-Y. Like, messed up in the head crazy. MDub asked me earlier in the week if I still did my Five on Friday, and when I said yes, he said “you need to tell them two is NOT your favorite.” That is the truth. We have definitely hit the terrible two’s, and we are counting down the days until three. Only 357 more to go! #kiddingkidding #remembertheabovequote
These two pictures were taken less than 5 minutes apart. Yes, I was that mom whipping out the camera during the middle of tantrum. Throwing a fit because we couldn’t take the basket with us, and then happy as can be feeding AB a bottle in the car. Don’t worry, we were parked!
Ok, now onto something way more fun. I bought these shoes a couple of weeks ago, and I’m in love. I’ve never been a fan of flats/casual tennis shoes since I’m so short, but I decided to bite the bullet and adhere to the trend. Once I broke them in, they are my go to. They are so comfy and on sale for a great price. Definitely one of my fall favorites.
While browsing for the shoes above, I came across these boots. Last year, I never really bought any ankle boots, so I decided I NEEDED these. What sealed the deal on these babies is that they are actually big around my ankle. They give the illusion that my calf/ankle is much skinnier than it really is. Short, squatty people don’t have much of a calf/ankle so we get excited when boots are actually big on us!!
Have y’all seen this? Hello, can my kitchen look just like this? As I was flipping through the new Pottery Barn Kids catalog this week, I came across this beauty. I’d say they’ve made a few improvements since the Fisher-Price plastic kitchen I had when I was little. Now I know AB is only 8 months and is still too young, but it’s very tempting to purchase when Partners Card starts next week. If you’re local, Partners Card gets you 20% off – that’s a huge savings on something like this. PB kids, please, keep this available for another year!
This little girl is my absolute favorite. I mean – look at those curls. When its humid or wet, what little hair she has curls up big time. I can’t even wait to see what her hair is going to be like as she gets older. #thoselips #getsemfromherdaddy
And then this pic of her climbing. She’s 8 months….8 MONTHS! I know PB was premature, but this girl is passing him like crazy in the milestone department. Yesterday afternoon, we looked up and she had climbed all the way up this rope wall all by herself. I’m afraid she’s going to be my daredevil.
We have a fun, exciting few days ahead filled with Tech-OU, birthday parties, trunk or treat, and a whole lotta Yard Party! Sippy cup cheers to the weekend!
