I’m back again for Week 5 of the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda at Calling It Home.
We are still waiting for the bulk of our furniture to come in, but I do have a little progress to report back to you.
If you’ve been following along, you know we changed our game plan completely in the middle of week four. Not a great way to start our first One Room Challenge, but hey, that’s how things work sometimes.
So, let’s get to it. We were able to mark three items off our list this week. Chairs, light fixture and hanging the mirror. Our chairs came in, and they are perfection. The deep velvety blue adds to the richness of the room. They are even the perfect size for all the little people that live in this house.
The mirror was hung, and I will soon add a small lamp and accessories onto the cabinet. This light fixture is my absolute favorite. So much that I may or may not have ordered one for my own house while I was at it. #MerryChristmasToMe This room was originally intended to be a dining room, so the original light was a must to switch out. The new light makes the room feel a little more “living room” like instead of formal dining.
When putting a room together where you are starting from scratch, it always seems to go so slowly. I know Paige is ready for this room to be wrapped up, as am I. Seven days left, couch delivery man, please come through!
Couch, coffee table, rug and accessories are the main items we are waiting on. Do you think we can finish by next week? The count down is on, and I have a feeling my entire weekend will be spent in this room. Which is not a bad thing at all. Putting it all together with final touches is what I like to do most.
To Do List:
-order wallpaper – new light fixture
-rug (not in the plan, but we really need one)
-wallpaper the room
-furniture (coffee table,
chairs, mirror, side table, couch )
– reorder furniture that was not in original plan -install light fixture
