How is it already Friday again? I’m by no means complaining, but holy cow, I swear it was just Monday. The first week of every month is crazy town around here, so I’m glad we survived. I had at least one meeting every night this week, plus throw in a basketball tournament for MDub, and no school today for PB, and let’s just say, hallelujah, we made it!
Last Friday night, we had dinner club at our house. We started this group three years ago and to say we are slackers is an understatement. We started off with a bang, rotating every other month. Then marriages, babies, and every day life happens and leaves you no time to slave all day in the kitchen preparing for 12 people. Ok, fast forward to last weekend and my turn to host. Our sweet friend Erin is due any day now with her THIRD boy so we decided to have a mini sprinkle/dinner club all in one. What better way to celebrate a baby boy than with flowers in a dump truck and dirt cake!
A favorite this week was getting to watch Mdub and uncle King play basketball. The weather has been so awesome, so Ana and I thought it would be good to take the kids. Little did we know, there wasn’t a tree in sight. (ok, I see some in this pic, but I didn’t see them that day) My poor fair skinned children were so red. While PB downed Gatorades, AB was having the time of her life. Shoutout to anyone that can name the EX-Texas Tech basketball player she’s high-fiving! (is that a word?)
As if this week wasn’t busy enough, I decided to link up yesterday with the Spring edition of the One Room Challenge. If you’ll remember, I did it back in the fall with Paige’s Living Room, and it was so much fun. It’s basically an excuse to completely redo a room and finish it in six weeks. Read all about the room I’m working on, and see all the before pics HERE. This means a ton of late nights and a lot of busy weekends ahead of me, but I absolutely love doing it-this is my yoga!
Before, guest bedroom…….six weeks from now, baby nursery!
Ok, this one is random and after my mom reads it, she’s going to call me and say this is the dumbest thing ever. I’m blaming my friend Kelsey as she’s the one that told me about it. Listen up – for those that live in Dallas, and other big metro areas, (I’m sure I have a ton of readers from Boston) this is the absolute most amazing thing. (sorry Rotan friends) There is now an app you can download, and have a massage therapist come straight to your house. I know, I know, but I promise – it’s legit. First off, let me say, if you have time to go somewhere during the day and get a massage, you should be going to my sister-in-law. But, if you have kids, work all day, and don’t have time to make it anywhere before closing hours, this is for you. It’s called Soothe – download it RIGHT now! This week, on my way home from a meeting, I got on the app, selected the time I wanted the LADY to arrive and hit confirm. The sweetest lady showed up at my house at 8pm with all her get up and gave me a massage right in the playroom! I never had to leave the house, I didn’t have to tip, and I got $30 off for using a code Kelsey sent me. It’s the Uber for massages!
Use this code to get $30 off. ZUPIN
This one hasn’t happened yet, but it’s coming next week. JV and I have an exciting post we’ve been working on to share with you. We have so many friends about to have babies, and since we are still in that season of life, these topics come up a lot. JV will be blogging about the essentials to pack for the hospital, and I’m talking about the 10 minute visit. If you have signed up to get my blog posts in your inbox- sorry about the fake post twice this week. For some reason each time I’ve gone in to edit, it’s posted to my blog. But – you will be able to read the post in its entirety next week. Keep checking back or put your email address in above to get it sent directly to your inbox.
Happy Happy Friday!!!
