Finally Fall!

Today marks the start of a fabulous season. I mean – is there anyone out there that doesn’t love fall? Pre-blog reading days, fall just meant football season and a tad bit cooler weather. Since the birth of blogs and Starbucks, fall means so much more….you know, the pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. I have to admit, I love the idea of sipping on a “pumpkin spice latte” in a pumpkin flannel shirt with pumpkin colored leaves falling to the ground. However, we live in Texas, and it may or may not be 75 degrees on Christmas Day; therefore, the dreamy thoughts of fall are more like sweating while pretending to like pumpkin coffee.

Since today is the official start of the pumpkin explosion season, here’s a little tour of our pumpkin decor!

I have a mixture of pillows, pumpkins, and other fall like items, but try to keep it as simple and clean as possible. As in – keeping the fake leaves and scarecrows to a minimum. My orange ruffle pillow I’ve had the longest and might keep it forever. I think it was one of the last pillows my grandmother made for me, and the jack-o-lantern face was a fab Home Goods find when Home Goods wasn’t even popular yet. Do you see my pineapple hanging out by the owl? I definitely don’t think a good pineapple should only be out for summer, especially when your fall is 95 degrees!

This year, I added a few new pumpkins from the Target dollar aisle.  I’m telling you, that place is fantastic. If you’re at a Target and see a $3 white marble pumpkin, I’ll pay you for them. I’ve bought out every Target in a 30 mile radius of me! Since fall at our house is all about football, I’m just so happy that my Slingin Sam Baugh book just happens to be orange!

Here’s to a long fall with crisp mornings, chilly football games, and a plethora of pumpkin spice – we can dream right?
