On Saturday, we celebrated big time – Firetruck/Airplane Style. Back in the summer, when I first thought about PB’s party, he was obsessed with airplanes. So, I booked the Frontiers of Flight museum and thought we were set. While his love of airplanes is still strong, firetrucks have made a big appearance in his world, and it’s all he’s been talking about. So – combo firetruck/airplane party is what he got!
PB has come a long way in just one year. This time last year, he was super shy and not a fan of crowds….he did NOT have fun at his own party. Maybe he’s just growing out of that phase, or maybe it’s helped that we’ve been to about 356 birthday parties this year to get him in the mood. The invitation has been up on our bulletin board for over a month, and every time he walks by, he points and says he’s ready for cake. Me too, Brother.
Last week, it’s all we talked about, firetruck cake, firetruck cake, firetruck cake. If he said it once, he said it a million times. Saturday, we woke up bright and early and he was so pumped. By the time we got to the museum, he was out of control excited. Lots of friends, lots of airplanes all complete with a fireman’s hat stuffed with lunch! What more could you want!?!
Side note – PB has been asking about Laylay for the last two months. So needless to say, he didn’t let her out of his sight!
Out of over 40 family pics, (thank you burst) this was the best we got. Neither kid looking, MDub looking less than thrilled, and something is super weird with my makeup – keeping it real!
AB made the rounds…shoeless.
He’s waited for this moment for a good 6 months!
We’re still feeling the sugar at our house. PB rarely sleeps past 7:30, and I had to wake him up at 8:40 Monday morning in time to run out the door for school. He was on cloud 9 all weekend and has been talking about it ever since. Happy 3rd Birthday, Sweet Boy – you have no clue how awesome it is to be your mom!
