2017 – You’re kicking my booty so far. Work, a house full of sickness, more work and more fun has left me so far behind it’s not even funny. So, when I saw this quote this week – I knew I had to share. Starting today, February 1st, I promise to be much better at this blogging thing.
And what better way to kick off
2017 February, with an office reno. I started working with this sweet family about a year ago, and the office space was the last room to pull together. Even though it took the longest, it is quite possibly my favorite room of the house and worth the wait. Come on in and take a look!
This house had a very typical, dark wood paneling, manly office that was very, very dark. I hate to even show you the before because this picture is so bad.
First things first – paint. Painting the room alone transformed it more than anything. We left the wood beams above the windows and on the ceiling. As much as I love me some white beams – these were real wood and brought some character to the space. The ceiling fan was replaced with a new chandelier, and we minimized the furniture. A simple writing desk allows for a small seating space in the corner for guests……aka children!
After months of waiting, this space is now the perfect place where this mom of 6 – yes, you heard that right – can enjoy getting organized.
