Painted Brick

I realized after showing you my kitchen on Monday, I’ve never really shown our current house on this blog. So today, you get to see the outside – what we started with and where we are today.

When we sold our first house, one of the things I was sad about was not having the time to complete the exterior. So, when budgeting and searching for house number two, the first thing on the priority list was going to be the outside. If I didn’t get to do it at the Woodstone house, I was for sure going to do it at Vista View.
There’s really nothing better to me than painted brick. Don’t get me wrong, there are some pretty brick houses out there, but there’s just something about a a fresh coat of paint on those 1970’s bricks that bring the house back to life.
This is what we bought a little over three years ago. Yes, Mdub thought I was crazy and he just couldn’t see the vision…and let me tell you the grass did NOT look like that. That’s a really good realtor photoshop job!

We obviously painted the brick, but then we also added shutters and awnings and replaced the front door right off the bat. The landscape has been ongoing in this Texas heat, but something that looks so much better than it did the day we moved in.

  1. So glad you had the vision for this house. The painted brick made such a difference, along with the shutters, awnings, and new front door! It looks soooo good now! Great house! Great neighborhood!

  4. What color did you choose for the brick? We are painting ours soon, and it’s proving to be a hard task to decide color!!!

    • I’m just now seeing this-sorry. To be honest-I have no clue the color. The painter I use gets paint from Kwal and it’s always random names that they never have 2 months later.
My suggestion is to go whiter than you think because it always looks super creamy or yellow!!!
