Five on Friday – Friday Favorites

After taking a two week hiatus – I’m back at it for Five on Friday and Friday Favorites. We’ve been gone for the last seven days, so the fact that today is Friday is blowing my mind.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that today is the start of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (unless you have the credit card, and you could shop last week). While the rest of the world is shopping for fall booties and winter jackets, I’ve been surfing the  home department – which is usually not that great, but they do have a few things worth a good mention!

ONE:
My FAV rug of all time is big time on sale. Any other time – you better be buying this rug from the best dealer out there. But for today – Nordstrom has slashed some prices. If you need a big area rug for your play room or just something small in front of your kitchen sink – I’m a big fan of these. You can spray them off with the water hose in your drive way and they look brand new. Even after red Gatorade has been spilled…..not sure how I know that!!!Screen Shot 2016-07-21 at 9.38.40 PM

TWO:
If you need teacher, babysitter, or friend gifts – click HERE. Voluspa is one of my favorite candles, and the party pack is a good way to have the same smell in several different rooms. I tried ordering this last year for a few Christmas gifts, and they were sold out everywhere. I’m stocking up early this year!

THREE:
This blanket has always been in and out of my shopping cart for quite a while. I think it’s so cute and would be a great baby gift. Or, if I was pregnant right now,  which I am NOT, I would be buying this. Who doesn’t love a good monogrammed gift.

FOUR:
Maybe it’s because the AC is blaring, and I’m currently typing this while under a bad throw, but I have blankets on the brain. Who doesn’t love a soft, plush throw, with pom poms at that? Only approximately 100 more days until you turn that AC off, start a fire, and curl up with a cup of coffee and this blanket. Ok – back to reality of 102 temps.

FIVE:
Since it is 102 outside, why not enjoy it. I actually put this print on a clients design board  a couple of weeks ago for her playroom. When I saw it was on sale AND framed, I got so excited. Super cute way to add some “Summer” to any room.

Well, folks, that’s my non-fashion-self giving you some non-clothing items to purchase from the
Nordstrom Sale.
On Monday, I plan to blog about our fun little vacation trip to NYC this past week….with TWO toddlers. Thanks for stopping by each Friday!!  Have a great weekend, and try not to sweat too much.

Five on Friday – Friday Favorites

Because this week has really been a blur, we’ve had zero favorite things and zero happenings other than July 4th. When Monday is a holiday, you take off Tuesday to travel back home, you are really thrown off Wednesday morning, and you for sure don’t think Friday is Friday. Hallelujah to getting back to normal next week.

SOOOO – Since I’ve been summering it up lately, and I’m lacking in the design department, I’m sharing a few of my favorite spaces I’ve created over the past couple of years.
Linking up as always for FIVE ON FRIDAY and FRIDAY FAVORITES

ONE:
What started it all……not that it was the first nursery for me to work on, but it was the first to get a few likes on FB, and probably the nursery that finally made me create a website.  Sweet Mila’s nursery is one for the books. Gold and white stripes with touches of pink make this one of my favorite girl nurseries. You would never know that it’s definitely the smallest space I’ve transformed.

TWO:
Paige’s entire house is my favorite. Slowly but surely, we will complete her entire home, but until then, you can just stare at Mr. Griffin’s man room. Because he lives in a house with four other females, a major dude room was on the agenda!

THREE:
Speaking of Paige’s house, I love, love her family room. A good bookshelf is always needed! Thank goodness Paige knows a little something about outfit styling when it comes to family photos. This giant canvas is the perfect addition and wasn’t planned at all.

FOUR:
My absolute favorite, favorite was my first house ever. The kitchen, laundry room and the master bathroom were amazing if I do say so myself. Someone please tell me why we moved??

FIVE:
Not design related at all, but if you didn’t read my July 4th round up – check it out here. We love Rotan time!

Happy weekend friends! Here’s to a weekend of playing catch up before we go again.

Five on Friday – Friday Favorites

It’s Friday, so you know what that means. The one time a week I actually blog!  However this week, this makes #2 – woohoo! I’m linking up again for Five on Friday and Friday Favorites.

ONE:
Y’all – this candle is Ahhhh-mazing. A couple of weeks ago, I helped host a baby shower at a friend’s house. When I walked in, the smell was noticeable, and it stayed that way the entire morning. Even with a packed house full of people, everyone kept mentioning how great it smelled. Well, since my good friend, Paige, told me a couple of months ago that my house stinks, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect candle. One that just smells fresh and clean and not like food. Mdub gets mad when he comes home, and it smells like cookies, and there’s no cookies!  Well, I think I may have found it. I texted the host after the shower, ordered on Amazon, and have been enjoying a house that smells like a flower shop ever since. And yes, Paige flat out told me my house stunk, what are best friends for, right?

TWO:
Speaking of Amazon, has anyone used Amazon Prime-Now? If you haven’t, jump on the band wagon NOW. I swear a mom with little kids had to have taken this idea to the CEO of Amazon. You simply order online, and it’s at your house within two hours. So when we are out of diapers or milk, I hit the button, and it’s delivered on my doorstep. One day last week we were out of the necessities, you know, fruit snacks and white Cheetos! I submitted an order, and it was delivered while I was at work and the kids were home with a sitter. Killing multiple birds with one stone!amazon-prime-now

THREE:
If you missed my Tuesday post, you missed an adorable nursery. I can’t take full credit as I didn’t put it all together, but I did help come up with the idea. My SIL took the plan and ran with it, and now sweet baby Knox has the most adorable “antler chic” nursery….that’s my made up name for it!

FOUR:
Sippy Cups – something we use approximately 25 a day and can never have too many. I was with a couple of moms last weekend and talking about this blog, different posts, etc. One of them said she really wished I would do a post on my favorite sippy cups. Done and done! I searched forever and these Gerber Nuk cups are the ones that have worked best for us. Both of my kids are rough on sippies. Like, throw them as hard as they possibly can on the ground after every drink. They don’t leak, and that’s basically the number one deciding factor for me. Since finding these, I’ve branched out and tried a couple of others that look a lot cooler or more hip, but keep coming back to these every time. We don’t leave home without them, and on a daily basis, you can probably find 4-6 of them in my car at one time. Oh the smell of old milk! #onedayIwillmissthis. #doubtit

FIVE:
And since Sunday is Father’s Day – Happy Happy Father’s Day to the two most amazing dads in the world. Donny & Mdub couldn’t be more different, yet they both have the best thing in common – being great dads!

Happy Friday Friends!

Five on Friday – Friday Favorites

It’s Friday, and I’m linking up again this week for Five on Friday and Friday Favorites. This link up has really kept me accountable to this blog. Many, many times I’m so tired on Thursday nights I can barely keep my eyes open, but I’m not one to miss a good party, even if it is a virtual party. So here we go – your weekly dose of randomness!

ONE:
Holy Cow – this is a lifesaver. I came across this blog post this week from another blogger, and OMG, this is going to save us tons of money. I promise, I don’t know how it happens (now I do), but I go over my data plan every month. I really thought it was from PB watching YouTube videos, but now I know it’s more than just that. MDub gets so annoyed with me each month, and he’s updated it many, many times, but somehow, I still go over. Well, well, I’m now praying that this little post will save our marriage…just kidding. #notreally  Follow these steps to save your data….and your marriage.

TWO:
If you missed my post on Monday about AB turning 11 months – check it out here. I want to cry that she’s getting older, but at the same time I get excited that life just keeps getting easier.

THREE:
Last Friday, I mentioned I was off for a girls’ weekend. It was absolutely AHHH-Mazing. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer. We wanted to call the husbands and tell them we weren’t coming home!  Check out all our pictures HERE

FOUR:
During the girls trip, we lived in our comfy clothes a majority of the time. JV gave us these pajama bottoms for Christmas, and they are heaven…….super soft and  even on sale right now! Do yourself a favor and buy a pair – comfiest pjs I own.

FIVE:
For some reason I have pjs on the brain big time. Maybe because we’re headed to LayLay’s 4th birthday party, and it’s a pajama & pancake theme. After sporting our Halloween and Christmas jammies for the last three months, I’m ready to move on to something basic and sweet. These three caught my eye this week and all for under $12, you can’t go wrong.

Happy Friday Friends, hope you have a great weekend!
