Five on Friday – Friday Favorites

It’s Friday, so you know what that means. The one time a week I actually blog!  However this week, this makes #2 – woohoo! I’m linking up again for Five on Friday and Friday Favorites.

ONE:
Y’all – this candle is Ahhhh-mazing. A couple of weeks ago, I helped host a baby shower at a friend’s house. When I walked in, the smell was noticeable, and it stayed that way the entire morning. Even with a packed house full of people, everyone kept mentioning how great it smelled. Well, since my good friend, Paige, told me a couple of months ago that my house stinks, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect candle. One that just smells fresh and clean and not like food. Mdub gets mad when he comes home, and it smells like cookies, and there’s no cookies!  Well, I think I may have found it. I texted the host after the shower, ordered on Amazon, and have been enjoying a house that smells like a flower shop ever since. And yes, Paige flat out told me my house stunk, what are best friends for, right?

TWO:
Speaking of Amazon, has anyone used Amazon Prime-Now? If you haven’t, jump on the band wagon NOW. I swear a mom with little kids had to have taken this idea to the CEO of Amazon. You simply order online, and it’s at your house within two hours. So when we are out of diapers or milk, I hit the button, and it’s delivered on my doorstep. One day last week we were out of the necessities, you know, fruit snacks and white Cheetos! I submitted an order, and it was delivered while I was at work and the kids were home with a sitter. Killing multiple birds with one stone!amazon-prime-now

THREE:
If you missed my Tuesday post, you missed an adorable nursery. I can’t take full credit as I didn’t put it all together, but I did help come up with the idea. My SIL took the plan and ran with it, and now sweet baby Knox has the most adorable “antler chic” nursery….that’s my made up name for it!

FOUR:
Sippy Cups – something we use approximately 25 a day and can never have too many. I was with a couple of moms last weekend and talking about this blog, different posts, etc. One of them said she really wished I would do a post on my favorite sippy cups. Done and done! I searched forever and these Gerber Nuk cups are the ones that have worked best for us. Both of my kids are rough on sippies. Like, throw them as hard as they possibly can on the ground after every drink. They don’t leak, and that’s basically the number one deciding factor for me. Since finding these, I’ve branched out and tried a couple of others that look a lot cooler or more hip, but keep coming back to these every time. We don’t leave home without them, and on a daily basis, you can probably find 4-6 of them in my car at one time. Oh the smell of old milk! #onedayIwillmissthis. #doubtit

FIVE:
And since Sunday is Father’s Day – Happy Happy Father’s Day to the two most amazing dads in the world. Donny & Mdub couldn’t be more different, yet they both have the best thing in common – being great dads!

Happy Friday Friends!

As usual, check out more pics on IG

Five on Friday – Friday Favorites

This picture says it all……. happy, happy weekend! I’m linking up as usual for Friday Favorites and Five on Friday. In no particular oder, I’m bringing you probably my most random assortment yet!

ONE:

If you weren’t aware, I’m the whitest person you’ve ever met, as in pale. I say all the time I should own stock in self tanner because I pretty much bathe in it during the summer. Several years ago, I tried the Jergens tinted lotion, but it did nothing for me, so I just wrote it off. For some reason, I picked some up about a month ago, and I’m now hooked.  I use it every single day, and it’s given me the perfect fall tan. Not too dark, but enough color so I’m not embarrassed to have shorts on. I think the key is to buy the medium to dark tone.

TWO:

Can we all dream for a brief moment that we’re able to decorate our entire Christmas tree from Anthro? I mean – no words. How cute would these ornaments be on a tree in a little girl’s room? The mercury glass initials, flamingo ornament, and the vine bud garland  are some of my favorites, but there are many, many more! If you need an ornament for a gift exchange, order one of these, and it’s guaranteed to be the one everyone fights over!

THREE:

I made a quick little trip this week up to Ikea to get a couple of things for my One Room Challenge. It’s not a secret I already love the place, but as I was walking out, I saw the cutest display with none other than buffalo check fabric. Even Ikea jumped on the bandwagon! You better believe I’ll be trying to find a use for it because it was a great price, and the check is really big. A definite favorite of the week!

FOUR:

We channeled our inner Silverton/Rotan this week and sported our new boots and belt to church. I’m pretty sure he knows when he’s dressed like a big boy because he automatically walks around with his hands in his pockets. His boots have become his favorite! P.S. – if anyone has any tricks up their sleeve on how to keep little boys still long enough to comb their hair, please send them my way. #thestruggleisreal every single day!Screen Shot 2015-11-05 at 11.46.17 PM

FIVE:

We have a very special baby shower this weekend for our soon to be cousin. Aunt LoLo is preggo (see what I did there?) with baby boy number three, so we are headed to Silverton to celebrate! She may or may not be getting this super chic diaper bag from us. Don’t worry – she picked it out and told me how she wanted the monogram. We are big fans of the Pottery Barn Kids’ diaper bags around here.  That’s what my sister-in-laws and I have all gifted to each other. LoLo and TayTay gave me mine with PB, then we’ve each returned the favor when the next becomes pregnant. They are just the right size, have a ton of pockets, and the entire inside is waterproof, so you can wipe it down easily. TayTay and I are stuffing it with lots of goodies, so I’ll make sure to get a pic on Sunday.

Whew, those were random, but hey, that’s how my brain works! Have a great weekend and don’t forget to check out Yard Party.  We have some really cute signs coming up in the next couple of weeks!

Five on Friday – Friday Favorites

We are so excited about the weekend – hurry up Saturday, and then Sunday, please, last forever! We have trick or treating, and then a post-pizza dinner planned with friends. A little reminder:  Clocks go back this weekend.  Pre-kids, the Fall Back weekend was amazing. I’m a little scared about Sunday morning, and what time we will all be waking up. I have to say, I’m not a fan of this time change. I don’t like it getting dark so early.  I feel like I can’t get as much done during the day.  Our nights go by way too fast, but maybe that will be a good thing, and we will all go to bed a little earlier.
Ok, now onto my Friday Favs!

ONE:
Because of this crazy Texas “Fall” weather, dressing has been really hard lately. It’s chilly in the mornings, but we are sweating by early afternoon. Kickee Pants to the rescue! If you have never bought them for your babies/kids, do yourself a favor and purchase right now. They make everything from pajamas to dresses to hats. They are the softest things in the entire world. A friend gave us our first Kickee Pants when PB was born, and I’ve been sold ever since. AB is wearing these almost every day right now. The pants are perfect for cooler mornings, and if we get too hot, we just take them off. The shirts are long enough to be worn as dresses. Definitely a favorite of the moment.

TWO:

This week for playgroup, we visited a pumpkin patch at a local church. We had a great time even though it was close to 80 degrees. We pushed the wagon, picked out the perfect pumpkin, and tried to get a few shots in our pumpkin clothes. (I told you we would have them on all October!) Then, to end the fun afternoon, we ate a little snack and played in the back of my car as we waited for the police to come. Yep, poor Lindsey’s car was broken into, and her purse was stolen….in a church parking lot! Who does that??

THREE:

Last week, I raved about the PB Kids Kitchen for AB – who won’t be getting it this year, but it was fun to swoon over! Since Partners Card starts today, we went to Pottery Barn Kids on Wednesday night to check out a few things. This little girl loved the kitchen, but we were mainly there to check on a table for PB. This table is really awesome. It comes with two different heights of legs, so that we can use it for a train table, and then later on both kids will be able to sit at it. I’m hoping our Donny & DeeDee Santa have this on their list!  Notice AB’s Kickee Pants ensemble.

FOUR:

If you missed my post yesterday, check it out! We are in week 4 of the 6 week challenge, and to say things are a little crazy is an understatement. We’ve got to get things moving next week, so that we can actually complete the space. These giant canvases are a great addition to the room!

FIVE:

What about this cute pillow from Target? I know we haven’t even made it through Halloween, but technically, it’s all Fall. For less than $20, pick this up next time you are there to add some “Thankful” to your fall decor. I know most of you will be there today picking up last minute candy or costumes, so do yourself a favor, and throw this little cutie in your basket.

Well, that was a random assortment! I hope you all have a Happy Halloween filled with Snickers and Reese’s!

32 Halloweens ago I became a big sister to this guy – Happy Birthday!!!
