Woohoo – I’m so excited y’all. Project Nursery has named their May Room Finalists, and sweet Griffin’s has been chosen. What that means – I shared this nursery a couple of weeks ago on the Project Nursery online gallery which is a place where anyone can upload pictures of a nursery for others to get inspiration. Each month, they choose five projects they like the most, and then let the readers vote on which they like best. Out of all the projects, Griffin’s black and white nursery made the top five. Now, here’s where you come in. For the next week, you can vote once a day on your favorite, which I’m sure will be Griffin’s. Click HEREand vote for the Black and White nursery to help push us to the top.
Here’s a look back in case you haven’t seen the room yet.
Baby Griffin quite possibly has the best room in this entire home. If you’ve been reading this blog for any time, you know that for the last year I’ve been slowly chipping away at each room ofPaige’snew house.
Baby Griffin was born back in March (I think) #badfriend, and we finished it up a week or two after he made his appearance.
If you know Paige at all, you know that she could care less about sweet and traditional. When I first asked her what she was thinking, she said fun and not your typical boy nursery. Check, check, check! Not many people would be ok with doing a black and white room for a newborn, but it is actually super cheery and very bright.
We started off with this fab wallpaper. I’ve been in love with this print for quite some time in the soft white and blue color. Leave it to Paige to like the black! The entire room is black and white with added accents of green to make the birds pop. Simple accessories with the bold pattern wallpaper balance out the room. The crib sits perfectly on a white wall with a fun dot mobile hanging above. Buffalo check is still going strong, and you better bet I’m gonna use it until I can’t stand it anymore. This pillowmade out of the oversized black and white version is to die for sitting on the white rocker.
The bathroom is right off the nursery and was already finished out in black and white. We added a few monogrammed towels, gold accessories, and called it a day. You don’t have to over do – keep things simple!
I’m so glad Paige is bold and not afraid to try anything. She trusts everything I suggest and is always up for a challenge. Thank you, Paige, for letting me be a part of yet another room in your new house. Five rooms down, 2.5 more to go!
It’s now week 4, and that kinda scares me a little. Mainly because we only have two weeks left in the One Room Challenge, and also because JM could possibly have a baby by then. I’m thinking very doubtful since that would work out too perfectly for this challenge.
Since we aren’t starting from scratch with this room, I feel like the updates are a little boring. However, we have more furniture! The chair came in this week, and we decided on a rug. The chair is a linen color, and the rug compliments it and the crib skirt nicely.
See what you think!
TO DO: ~Remove TV ~Hang curtain rod/drapes ~Purchase floor lamp ~Have a baby!
So Nick, he’s the baby daddy– if you’re reading this, I know you have nothing else on your plate right now, but I need a TV removed and a curtain rod hung, please, sir!
It’s week two of the One Room Challenge, and it’s time to share the vision for the space. This cozy little room will soon be transformed, but we won’t know until possibly week 5 or 6 what the finishing touches will look like.
Let’s take a look back at the before pics just to refresh your memory….because we’ve all slept since last Thursday. Remember from my post last week, we’re keeping that fab wallpaper and planning the nursery around it. Everything else, gotta go!
Ok, on to the fun stuff – let’s see what this sweet baby’s room will look like . This has become quite common for me lately, as I’ve had several clients wait to find out the gender of their baby. Notice the big items will be the same, whether girl or boy. The details will be finished out once baby Mourton arrives. It’s ok to come 2 or 3 weeks early, I have a room to finish, sweet baby!!
We’re keeping it simple! No crazy projects, no DIY, no shipping anything from Europe (yes, I’ve been known to not read where something is coming from), just simple and easy. Just what a 34 week pregnant mamma needs! (and hubby for that matter)
Everything has been ordered that can be ahead of finding out the gender. The crib and dresser are in route, chair has been ordered, and we purchased the side table and crib skirt. We love the details of the crib so much, we are keeping the bedding minimal. No bumpers and a simple white sheet will look great with this fun crib skirt.
What’s on the todo list for week 2? ~Finding the right blackout drapes
~Perfect gold curtain rod ~Sourcing plush rug ~Mirror ~Lamp
Make sure to check back weekly for progress on the room. WEEK ONE
Oh, and my guess is boy, even though I’ve been dying to order that amazing multi-colored leopard pillow!!
When I found out one of my best friends was pregnant with a girl, I knew we had to make it the best nursery yet! Jenny and I went to Tech together, were sorority sisters, moved to Dallas together after graduating, were in each others weddings and pregnant with our daughters at the same time.
At Mila Poppy’s baby shower!
Jenny knew she wanted to keep it clean, crisp and white, but with a few girly touches. She already had a mirrored chest she wanted to use in the room so we added golds and pinks for a soft metallic nursery. We ordered this crib which is just the right size for the room along with the softest bedding ever!
